"I go by the moniker of Jonny Fairplay... I don't play fair." - Jon Dalton

Who is Jon Dalton, and why do we love him so much?

He is a contestant on the Survivor: Pearl Islands. And like Ted Dibase, we hope he ends up being the Million Dollar Man.

His favorite TV shows are WWE Smackdown and Raw. Although I would venture to say, like everyone else, he thinks Raw sucks these days.

His favorite publication is the fantastic Pro Wrestling Torch Newsletter. I hear Jim Cornette is very passionate about The Torch too!

He also used to be a part of Portland Organic Wrestling which seems to be some drugged out, fringe of society, nightmare version of 'real' wrestling.

Jonnyboy used to work as a production assistant for the deranged whacko Rowdy Roddy Piper.

For news on Jon and the others, Survivor Fever is the undisputed champion. Only one complaint about the site: not enough Fairplay.

For even more news on Fairplay and the others, Survivornews.net is just as good as survivorfever. The same complaint though: not enough Fairplay.

For yet even more news on Jonny, Sir Linksalot is not to be outdone. You'll find some other curtain jerker websites about Jon, but remember:  we are the main event.

11/22/03 CHRIS'S COLUMN

The views of Chris do not necessarily match the views of The Higher Power, Jason.

Rupert pulls a Mick Foley

When he realizes that someone is more over in the industry than he is, he has a heartfelt and emotional (albeit selfish and melodramatic) confessional to the world. He just can’t seem to accept that Johnny Fairplay and Burton Lesnar just might have things worked out and their plans don’t involved the Hardcore Legend. Maybe when he comes back as Commissioner of the Jury, he’ll have shaved his head and will go back to wearing his trusty tye-dye shirt (hey it worked for Foley, why not him?). Finally we won’t see his Goldberg-like obsession with his damn spear.

Seriously though, I personally have no beef with Rupert. (I CAN, however, get away with pretty much any harsh comments I can make, seeing that he’s more than likely off in Panama filming Survivor All-Stars, mua-ha-ha) But the guy is a troubled teens mentor and he throws a temper tantrum whenever something doesn’t go the big guy’s way. Great role model. What’s next? Hardcore Holly’s educational facility for the depressed and introverted? The guy has no love for anyone else in the game in these challenges. First, he pulled a Chavo Guerrero, not forgiving Latino Heat Sandra’s mistaken hit on him in the Killer Darts challenge. Then he complained about his being voted out to the big guy, Mr. Probst, like Mark Calloway after doing a job to John Cena. And what was this load about ‘I guess this goes to show that you can’t trust people in life’ – did he go on Survivor hoping for a lesson in social humanity? Personally, I felt that was HIS job as a mentor. Phew, look at me – I’m shooting like Roddy Piper here. I’d best let DDP help me help myself and calm the hell down..... ok.

Unfortunately with Rupert’s loss to the show, Burnett and company will now have to suffer through what will be an unavoidable ratings loss. Like I said, don’t be surprised if they pull another improvised ‘twist’ (ARGUABLY improvised, don’t start sending in the emails debating with me on the integrity of Mark Burnett) and have jury members grab a little more TV time. But on a good note – especially for this site – it looks like Burton and Fairplay rule the game, the show and the drama. And while Rupert’s off filming movies and Rhyno’s neck is healing after that inverted piledriver, we can sit back and merrily watch as Burton Lesnar and Johnny Fairplay take over our Thursday night viewings....well, Wednesday, at least for next week.

My ‘holy sh**’ chant for this episode: Lillian actually pulls off a big lie to Rupert’s face. She’s got some Earl Hebner in her after all!

My ‘boooring’ chant for this episode: The reward challenge. They a had a kick-ass Scooby-Doo-looking ghost ship built, but the challenge came off as lame. Who didn’t see Burton/Lil and Fairplay/Rup in the finals? Might as well have had Molly Holly and a partner of her choosing in their to spice things up.

My mark out for this episode: Sandra’s despair after knocking Rupert out of Immunity. That hurt more than a chair shot from Stacey Keibler... then again so does Darrah’s voice (doesn’t help that she has the personality of an IC champ Lance Storm).
