WHAT
IS A CINEMATIC PHOTO SLIDESHOW?
"This
ain't your grandfather's slideshow." You remember the family
gathering around the dark smoky room. Kids complaining that they
don't want to watch, parents secretly agreeing with them. Then
Grandpa starts clicking and 50 pictures, 85 stories, and 4 hours
later, everyone is asleep.
GatorClaw
won't let that happen. The key word in what we do is "cinematic."

HOW
WILL YOU ORGANIZE MY PHOTOGRAPHS ON THE CINEMATIC SLIDESHOW?
It's completely up
to you. As with any of our packages, you have total control.
But, remember that
you want to tell an emotional story. We suggest putting your story in
chronological order with chapters. If this sounds intimidating, don't
worry. We suggest breaking your collection of photos into chapters.
We suggest each 'chapter' to be about 15-30 photos. The 15-30 photo
is only a guideline- but is about 2-5 minutes.
The reason we
suggest breaking up your photos into chapters is simple. It helps
break up the Cinematic Slideshow and keep it from being a monotonous,
boring presentation.
Some examples of
chapters are "Grandma and Grandpa," "The Teen
Years," "Our Wedding Day" or "Disney World
Trip." See
our demonstrations page for examples.
Ultimately, it's really up to you. And if you're not that sure, don't
worry, we're more than willing to talk to you about it. Just give us
an idea of what you want and we'll discuss it. Our goal is to give
you a fun, emotional story to tell.

CAN'T
I JUST DO THIS MYSELF? WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR IT?
This
is a great question. We use the analogy: Why would you want to drive
a Yugo when you could drive a Porche?
Yes,
you could take the time to scan all of your old photographs. You
could by an off the shelf slideshow program. You could put the pics
and music in and maybe it'll even have transitions. But what it lacks
is the superior quality of a Gator Claw production. It will not have
any of the emotional impact that we provide in our Cinematic
Slideshows. We pay meticulous attention to detail and go above and
beyond what you'd expect from an off the shelf program. Here is a
list of just some of the advantages of using Gator Claw:
We do all the painstaking scanning work to get your old photographs
preserved in a digital format
We color correct and remove
scratches of each photo
We add meaningful movement to your photographs, making it more like
a documentary than a slideshow
We time your music carefully editing it as needed for more emotional
impact and to time it to the photos
We add professional titles and credits to add to the cinematic,
emotional experience

HOW
DO I SEND MY PHOTOS OR VIDEOS TO YOU?
There are two ways:
1) Mail them to
418 Baldwin Park Drive, #B2, Westminster, MD 21157
Please send your
package via a shipping service that provides a tracking number (such
as Fedex or UPS) or return receipt requested with the United States
Postal Service. This will ensure that it can be traced and proven
that we've received it. We cannot be responsible for any lost or
misdirected packages.
Be sure to write
Do Not Bend on your package to prevent damage to your
photos or videos. Including a piece of cardboard in your envelope is
also recommended.
2.) If you have
digital photos you can Instant Message them to us. The advantage of
this is we can get to work right a way on your project, plus we'll
give you a discount since some of our labor is avoided in scanning
the photos. We will still color correct these photos for maximum quality.

HOW
DO I TELL YOU WHAT THE ORDER OF MY PHOTOS ARE AND WHAT SONGS TO USE?
1. Rubberband each
group of photos, or put them in separate envelopes or folders.
Remember, each chapter should be about 15-30 photos in length. The
reason for this is simple. You don't want to go too fast, but you
also don't want to bore your audience. Also, conveniently, 20-30
photos will be about 3-5 minutes, the length of most songs.
2. Please make
sure these photos are in the order you want them.

CAN
I ALSO GET A VHS VERSION OF MY SLIDESHOW?
Yes.
While video tape
doesn't take advantage of DVDs excellent features that make viewing
your Slideshow more convenient and fun, some people may not have a
DVD player.

CAN
I ORDER MORE DVDs OR VIDEOS AFTER MY INITIAL ORDER?
Yes.
This is one of our
most popular requests. After you show your relatives, inevitably a
few will want copies of their own. Your Slideshow will be archived
for at least one year and during this time you can order more videos
at $20 per DVD.
Please call (410)
259-3851 or email service@gatorclaw.com
to order additional videos after your initial order has been processed.

DO
YOU CHARGE EXTRA TO TOUCH UP MY OLD PHOTOGRAPHS?
No.
Unlike most other
companies that charge you extra for each photo that is color
enhanced, red eye reduced, cropped, zoomed, and damage repaired,
Gator Claw does not.
To us, this is
simply not an option. We would not feel comfortable creating a DVD
that did not have scratches and stains removed. Since, this is not an
option, if would make no sense to charge extra for it. Quality is at
the top of our list of importance.
Bear in mind,
however, some photos can be damaged beyond repair, but we do an
excellent job of fixing faded color and defects. Check out the Demonstrations
section for examples.

CAN
I HAVE TITLES?
Yes.
Titles are vital
to having a fun and emotion production. There are several places
where titles can be added including the DVD title, chapter titles,
and individual photograph captions.
Don't panic if you
don't have any titles in mind, we'll be happy to help you out.

WHAT
IS THE MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM NUMBER OF PHOTOS OR VIDEOS I CAN HAVE PER DVD?
The answer is open
ended. We pride ourselves on our flexibility. We do not set absolutes
on minimum orders. We want you to be happy with your order, whatever
that may be.
However, we do
recommend no less than 100 photos per Slideshow. This equates to
about 14 minutes.
As far as
maximums, about 2000 is the upper limit. However, if you're thinking
about one of these epics, keep in mind, few people will want to sit
down for three hours of family photos without a break. No matter how
lovable your family is!
Our most popular
orders are 200-300 photographs.

IS
THERE A RESTRICTION ON THE SIZE OF THE PHOTOS USED?
Any size or shape
photo (or document) up to 8 1/2" x 12" can be included in
your Slideshow. However, if you have many photos larger than 5x7,
there may be an additional surcharge, since these photos are more
time consuming to scan.
